What is the ZSA enabling switch and when to use it?

The hand-held enabling switch is a manually operated command switch, which allows the use of the iw.hub to be carried out in the danger area in manual operation by deactivating the safety fields of the two Sick Laser scanners mounted on the iw.hub. This could be for example when the iw.hub needs to be navigated manually out of the pallet dock.

Notes:

  • This device should be used only by qualified employees in case the iw.hub is stuck in an area due to obstacles breaching its safety fields.
  • Analyze the surroundings before using the iw.hub and the switch

The Euchner ZSA enabling switch has a 3 stage function. The enabling function is only activated in the second stage (middle position). If the button is released or fully pushed the enabling function is deactivated.

As captured in the figure below the stages are defined as follows:

  • Stage 1: Not Enabled (released)
  • Stage 2: Enabled (Actuating point, not fully pressed)
  • Stage 3: Not Enabled (Pressed through)
